This handsome 1958 Omega carries the case reference number FX 6040. The steel case measure 34mm excluding the original signed crown and is in good condition showing signs of wear.
All the original dial hardware is present. Original factory finished silver glossy dial shows minor spotting, applied silver arrow indices with radium still present, applied logo, “OMEGA”, “AUTOMATIC” printed in black. Original silver dauphine hands show signs of oxidation. Small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock with original silver second hand.
Quadruple signed on dial, crown, movement and case back.
While the dial does not carry the “Chronometer” designation, the Omega caliber 490 powering this watch is a rather uncommon variant adjusted to 2 positions. It is running well and keeping time.
This Omega FX 6040 will arrive on a black leather strap with a modern stainless steel buckle.
*Due to the sensitive nature of vintage watches, this watch should be treated as though not water resistant, even if marked as being so.
