A fine and attractive gents Mido Multifort Powerwind steel watch with glossy black silver “gilt” dial from the 1950’s.  Mido is a brand whose vintage offerings provide tremendous value in regard to overall craftsmanship, technical features and aesthetic design.  This watch is no exception.  The Taubert-made case is solid stainless steel with a screw down back and measures 35mm excluding the original mushroom crown.  The factory original glossy black dial with galvanic silver “gilt” font features attractive applied silver scalloped hour indices marking cardinal hours with applied silver pyramids marking ancillary.  The dial has developed a light and even patina throughout.  Silver dauphine hands with center sweep seconds.  Applied silver “MIDO” signature.  Also signed “MULTIFORT”, “SUPERAUTOMATIC”, “POWERWIND”, “SWITZERLAND”.

Powering the watch is a Mido caliber 917P with 17 jewels.  The movement is very clean, winding and running well and keeping excellent time.

Delivered on a vintage leather strap with steel buckle.
