A rare gents Angelus Chronodato calendar chronograph wrist watch in steel with handsome tropical dial, circa 1950’s.  38mm unpolished steel case in excellent condition with crisp edges and snap on case back.  Rare factory black dial aged to a beautiful tropical brown with arabic hours in radium, 45 minute counter, and outer date track.  Silver luminous filled hour and minute syringe hands, white chronograph runner and blue date pointer.  White month and day disks.  Signed “ANGELUS”, “CHRONODATO”.  Lot #132  in Christie’s 21 June 2017 Rare Watches and American Icons auction.

Manually-wound in-house triple calendar chronograph movement decorated with perlage and Geneva stripes in very good condition.  Winding, running well and keeping time.
