An attractive, well preserved gents Omega reference 2421 “Ambassador” wrist watch in yellow gold, circa 1947, thus named for contemporary advertising that referred to the reference as the “Ambassador of Swiss precision”.  The solid 18kt gold 35mm case is full and thick with crisp hallmarks.  The watch features an early water proofing system consisting of a closure ring that is fastened over a gasketed case back cover.  The original two-tone dial retains its factory finish and remains in overall excellent condition, displaying only minor wear.  Hours are marked by alternating Art Deco styled numerals and applied darts.  Time is indicated by “feuille” or “leaf” style hour and minute hands and a blued center sweep second hand.  Signed “OMEGA”, “AUTOMATIC”, “SWISS MADE”.

Powering the watch is a well preserved 28.10 RA SC bumper automatic with 17 jewels.  The movement is winding, running well and keeping time.

Delivered on a modern leather strap with gold plated buckle.
