We’re pleased to offer this hidden gem of technical innovation, a fine, well preserved and scarce gents self-winding Girard-Perregaux Chronometer HF wrist watch powered by one of 662 serially produced caliber 32A, circa the late 1960’s.  The story of the caliber 32A is a fascinating one.  Released in 1966, the ultimate goal of the 32A was to provide the very best performance possible in the mid range price point (retail prices ranged from $170 to $485 depending on configuration). The 34.3mm (excluding the original signed crown) stainless steel C-shape case remains unpolished with brushed case sides and lug tops separated by a thin, high polished bevel.  A screw down back provides ample protection from the elements.  The factory original silver dial features a handsome vertical texture with applied machined hour markers and a silver rimmed date window at 3 o’clock.  Factory original hour, minute and center sweep seconds hands.  Signed “GIRARD-PERREGAUX”, “CHRONOMETER HF”, “GYROMATIC”, “SWISS T”.

Powering the watch is one of the aforementioned 662 serially produced self-winding Girard-Perregaux caliber 32A, beating at a silky smooth 36,000 vph and adjusted to 5 positions and temperatures.  Additional features include hack seconds, micro metric regulator, ISOVAL self-compensating hairspring and monometallic balance.  The movement is extremely clean, winding and running well and keeping excellent time.

Delivered on a modern leather strap with a generic steel buckle.
