A fine, scarce, and well-preserved IWC wrist watch with glossy black dial and rose gold case, circa 1960.  The solid 18kt rose gold case features a polished finish, a snap down case back, and measures 36mm in diameter excluding the crown.  The centerpiece of the watch however is the beautifully preserved near mint glossy black dial.  Applied rose gold arabic numerals alternate with bars to mark the hours, with the minute track machined into the dials surface creating depth and subtle shine.  The signature and “SWISS” marking have been expertly rendered in metallic rose gold print.  Original gold alpha style hour and minute hands with center sweep seconds.  Signed “INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO”, “SCHAFFHAUSEN”, “SWISS”.

Powering the watch is a hand winding IWC caliber 89 in similarly excellent condition, generously decorated with Geneva stripes.  The movement is winding, running well and keeping excellent time.
