1954 LONGINES REF. 5795, FANCY LUGS, 35MM, STEEL

A well preserved gents Longines wrist watch in stainless steel, circa 1954. The case is in excellent unpolished condition, featuring a snap down back and measuring 35mm excluding the original unsigned crown. Presumably made for the French market as the inner case back is signed “FAB SUISSE” along with “SWISS MADE”. Attractive Art Deco style lugs with high polished facets. A thin bezel surrounds the original vertically brushed satin silver dial. Applied arabic numerals in rose gold alternate applied darts. Original rose gold alpha hands indicate time with subsidiary seconds. Small discoloration to very edge at 1 o’clock, otherwise in excellent original condition. Signed “LONGINES”, with applied winged hourglass logo in rose gold. Powering the watch is the original Longines hand-winding caliber 12.68Z, containing 17 jewels which has been freshly serviced. The watch is winding, running well and keeping time.
