INQUIRE

A fine and very scarce gents Audemars Piguet reference 5006 dress watch in yellow gold, circa 1952.  The classically styled case is crafted of solid 18kt yellow gold, measuring 34mm excluding the original unsigned crown with a snap down case back.  The light gold dial features subtle brushing with a satin finish, black printed signature and applied gold faceted batons.  It remains in excellent condition showing only very light aging throughout.  Gold baton hour and minute hands with subsidiary seconds.  Signed “AUDEMARS PIGUET”, “GENÈVE”, “SWISS”.

Powering the watch is the scarce and desirable Audemars Piguet VZSS movement, an attractive 3/4 plate design known for both its robustness and accuracy.  The present example remains in very good condition and displays minor wear and moderate toning.  The movement features 18 jewels and is adjusted to temperatures and four positions.  Read more about what makes this movement special in our blog post, ‘ORIGINS: THE 13 LIGNE VALJOUX “VZ” MOVEMENT’.
