In the late 1950’s Waltham, seeing an opportunity to carve out a piece of the budding dive watch market, struck a deal with Blancpain to sell Waltham branded diving watches in the U.S.  Built in Blancpains factories by the brand made popular by purpose built diving watches, this particular watch is identical to Blancpains’ Bathyscaphe MC4 diving watch save the branding.

This gents diving watch was produced by Blancpain for Waltham circa 1960.  The stainless steel case measures 34mm in diameter excluding the original unsigned crown.  The case shows appropriate age wear with original bevels present.

All original factory hardware is present including the original bi-directional bakelite bezel.  Original black dial with applied radium filled indices and white printing.  Silver and red painted Waltham logo.  Original radium filled hands and signature arrow second hand present.  Dial, furniture and hands all in excellent condition.

Hand winding AS 1686, 17 jewels, original to the watch and keeping time.

This Blancpain for Waltham Bathyscaphe watch will be delivered on a MoD NATO strap with modern steel buckle.

As with all Stetz & Co. timepieces, this watch includes a full one year warranty.

*Due to the sensitive nature of vintage watches, this watch should be treated as though not water resistant, even if marked as being so.
