A fine and rare gents Audemars Piguet reference 5043BC wrist watch with factory original black dial, circa 1967. Collectors of vintage AP will note that remarkably few pre-Royal Oak era watches were equipped with black dials from the factory, and fewer were produced in white metal relative to yellow, making this watch a very special and rare example. The 18kt white gold case measures 32mm excluding the original unsigned crown and has been exceptionally well preserved.
Factory original gloss black dial with white printing in good condition. Note the small scratch between 8 and 9 o’clock. Signed “AUDEMARS PIGUET, GENEVE, SWISS”. Stick hands in white gold.
Audemars Piguet caliber 2003 “ultra thin” movement with 17 jewels and adjusted to four positions. The watch is running well and keeping time.
Delivered on a vintage black Audemars Piguet signed strap with modern generic steel buckle.
