A gents Sofior chronograph with reverse panda dial, circa 1960’s.  The stainless steel screw back case is in honest condition with bumps and scuffs throughout and measures 38mm excluding the crown.  The bezel features an engraved tachymeter scale similar to the original Speedmaster.  In an interesting parallel, the hour marker/lume layout of the dial is very similar to the early Seamaster resulting in an attractive melding of the two.  The dial itself is a matte black or dark charcoal accented by the white dished chronograph registers at 9 and 3.  The hours are indicated by a large luminous filled baton hand and minutes by an arrow.  The original chronograph runner is tipped by a small luminous filled triangle.  Signed “SOFIOR GREY”, “17 RUBIS”, “INCABLOC”, “T SWISS MADE T”.

Powering the watch is Valjoux 92 chrongraph movement with 17 jewels.  The movement is winding, running well and keeping time with all complications functional.

Delivered on a modern leather strap with modern steel buckle.
