A fine and very rare gents Audemars Piguet reference 5072, circa 1952.  The reference 5072 distinguishes itself with an oversized 37mm case with screw down case back.  A pale champagne factory original dial features applied batons and black printed signature.  Signed “AUDEMARS, PIGUET”, “GENÈVE”, “SWISS”.  The present example remains in excellent overall condition with generous age toning throughout.  

Powering the watch is a chronometer-grade 13″‘ VZASC hand-winding movement adjusted to temperatures and four positions.  The VZ is generally regarded as one of the finest hand winding movements ever made.  This example has been tested and is clean, running well and keeping time.
