An attractive gents Universal Genève dress watch in steel and yellow gold, circa 1950’s.  The 34mm screw back case with steel body and solid gold machined bezel features the sculpted bombe style lugs popularized by the brands Polerouter line launched in 1954.  A beautifully preserved near mint factory original silver sunburst dial rests underneath the original acrylic crystal.  Machined gold dart shaped indices mark the cardinal hours which are joined by black printed crosshairs.  Small lume pips rest at the base of each marker.  A gold rimmed date window rests at 3 o’clock.  In the center lie a set of equally well preserved gold dauphine style hour and minute hands inset with small strips of lume, and a gold center seconds hand.  Signed “UNIVERSAL GENÈVE”, “AUTOMATIC”, “SWISS”.

Inside beats an immaculate UG caliber 218-2 microrotor movement with 28 jewels and decorated with Geneva stripes.  The movement is winding, running well and keeping time.
