A fine and very scarce oversized gents Movado ref. 4648 dress watch, circa 1950s. Uncharacteristically large 36.3mm case made by Ed Wenger S.A. and crafted of 18kt rose gold with high polish finish. Solid 18kt rose gold “deluxe” dial with engine-turned geometric pattern, applied rose gold hour markers and date window at 3. Dial is in overall excellent original condition and displays very light even aging. Rose gold dauphine hour and minute hands, center sweep seconds. Signed “MOVADO”, “SWITZERLAND”.
Powering the watch is a Movado hand winding caliber 368 with 17 jewels in excellent condition. The movement is winding, running well and keeping time.
