A rare gents Longines reference 5056 wrist watch invoiced by Longines in 1943 to “Esmerelda”, the famed Hauser Zivy & Cie owned jewelry and watch boutique in Mexico City.  With locations in Le Chaux-de-Fonds, Paris and Mexico City, Esmerelda is famously known for the sale of a unique Girard-Perregaux pocket watch equipped with with three gold bridges and tourbillon to the then President of Mexico, General Porfirio Diaz.

The present watch was discovered 75 years after it left the boutique at a garage sale in the same city.  The stainless steel case is exceptionally clean and remains unpolished, measuring 35mm excluding the original crown, and features a thin coin-edged bezel with a high polished top.  The original two-tone dial has aged gracefully, the logo faded but still legible with deco style arabic hour markers printed in black.  Original blued hour and minute stick hands, subsidiary seconds.

The original Longines caliber 12.68Z has been freshly serviced, is running well and keeping time.

Delivered on a modern steel beads of rice bracelet.
