A Girard-Perregaux reference 6083 triple calendar wrist watch from the 1940’s.  Girard-Perregaux produced the reference 6083 for roughly two decades beginning in the 1940’s and ending production in the 1950’s.  The robust steel case features a screw down back with faceted lugs and brushed case sides.  This example remains unpolished and well preserved.  A silver dial is fitted with gold applied arabic numerals with subsidiary seconds and a date track printed in blue ringing the outer edge.  The day of the week and month are displayed at 12 o’clock.  The gold gilt leaf style hour and minute hands are original to the watch, as is the blued steel pointer hand.  Dial signed “GIRARD-PERREGAUX”, “AUTOMATIC”, “SWISS MADE”.

Powering the watch is one of GP’s earliest automatics movements, the caliber 44BF bumper.  The movement displays some minor wear but is clean, winding and running well and keeping time will all functions working properly.
