An attractive gents timepiece from Swiss watchmaker/jeweler E. Gübelin with two-tone black gilt dial, circa 1940’s. 35mm steel screw back case displays modest wear. Factory original two-tone black gilt dial in good condition with even age spotting throughout. The numerals and index plackets were likely filled with radium at one point as evidenced by the luminous filled dauphine hands. Contrasting white center sweep seconds hand. Signed “E. GÜBELIN”, “AUTOMATIC”, “SWISS”.
Inside beats a E. Gübelin-signed bumper automatic with 17 jewels. The movement is in serviceable condition, running well and keeping time.
