A fine and rare gents Vacheron Constantin ref. 6006 wrist watch in yellow gold, circa 1950-1955.  The boldly styled “disco volante” case remains in very good condition, featuring a stepped bezel and measuring 34.5mm excluding the original unsigned crown.  Collectors of of this time period will note that Vacheron produced a watch in no more than 24 examples of any one configuration.  The original silver dial is affixed with applied elongated gold bars and the original gold baton hour and minute hands are present, as well as subsidiary seconds.  Signed “VACHERON & CONSTANTIN”, “GENEVE”.

Powered by a manually wound Vacheron Constatin caliber 1001, the movement displays generous Côtes de Genève embellishment that contrasts with black polished components and is constructed with 17 jewels.  The watch is winding, running well and keeping excellent time.

Delivered on a vintage leather strap with modern plated buckle.
