Prior to 1951 every Audemars Piguet watch created was completely unique, making watches of this era particularly collectible.  Here we have a fine and very rare gents Audemars Piguet timepiece in yellow gold circa 1949 in its original signed brown leather box.  This classically styled watch is in excellent original condition and measures 31.5mm excluding the crown.  The original finish of the satin silver dial has been beautifully preserved and features a vertical brush pattern, applied gold hour markers and gold baton hands with subsidiary seconds.  Signed: “AUDEMARS, PIGUET, GENEVE, SWISS”.  Interestingly this particular style of signature appears to be specific to watches produced in 1949.

The original caliber 9/10″‘ RS is finished to the highest standards and features 18 jewels and eight adjustments.  The movement is running well and keeping time.
